Hello,
First of all I would like to say that I have been a T-mobile customer for a long time... even back in the voicestream days. I currently pay less than $70 a month for one of my lines. I was due for an upgrade but since T-mobile changed their plans and now have no contracts I guess my upgrade is gone? I was really looking forward to getting the Galaxy S4 when it comes out but my understanding is that I have to switch to one of these no contract plans and pay full price for the phone. Now, T-mobile claims that in the long run these plans will be cheaper. However, if I switched from my current plan I will be paying at least $80 a month, not including taxes, the price of the phone, insurance, etc. How does this benefit the long time, loyal customers when its time for a new phone? We have to shell out hundreds of dollars for a new phone, regardless if its in 24 "easy" or bundled or interest free payments, that is still a lot of money in the long run, not to mention having a highly monthly bill. Why not give customers the choice if they want to continue on contract and get the phone at a much cheaper price, like it has always been? In my opinion, this option w/contract is much better in certain situations. Although I am paying $90 a month on my other line, I got the galaxy note 2 for $200 with a 2 year contract. How much would I have to pay if I wanted to get that phone now under the New and improved" T-mobile plan? This new no contract plan definitely saves money, just not for the loyal long term customers. My question is, is there even still an option to purchase any new phones under contract without paying full price? If not then I'm definitely thinking about switching carriers as any way I see it if I get a new phone my monthly bill will be at least $100 with a down payment of $150 thrown on top of that. Thanks for your time.
