My gmail & Yahoo emails are stop working on cellular data since I updated carrier update 16.1 (about 3 weeks ago) on my iPhone5. Not only on my phone, on my sister phone as well. We have family plan and using same iPhone5. But we can use other apps which need data service and safari is working fine on cellular data. On both phones, emails are working fine with any wifi network and AT&T cellular data (I tried with my friend SIM).

I chatted with T-mobile customer service (Nikki) online. She told me to contact email provider and see there are no restrictions on my email accounts. I told her that is not possible that I have restrictions on my email accounts. But she kept telling me that. Okay, fine!!

I emailed to gmail and yahoo help support and confirmed that there are no restrictions on my accounts. I went to apple store and make sure there is no problem on my hardware or software. Apple run diagnostics and found out problem is at T-mobile side probably t-mobile had some restrictions on my data plan.

I called t-mobile again. The guy said these days gmail and yahoo are pushing people to use their apps. He asked me to download apps and test if emails are work on apps. Emails were working fine on apps. And he said, "we solved your problem". I said, "No, problem is still there emails are still not working. I don't want to install unnecessary apps to use my energy source". I argued with him on the phone. Finally, he said the only thing he can do is open an service ticket for me. It will take up to 72 hours for engineer to check. Then they will let me know what is going on.

I still didn't hear anything after a week and of course problem is still there. So, I stop by t-mobile shop around in my neighbor today and see if they can help. Sale rep didn't even check my phone, just looked at in their system said they still working on it. Wouldn't have answer until Sunday. Call them back on Sunday. I don't know what kind of support is that. It has been 3 weeks and problem is not solved. I think t-mobile is pushing me to change their simple choice plan. Because I have really old plan which opened 2 years ago with 200MB high speed data. And I have corporate discount on my plan.

So t-mobile is playing game with me!!! Time to switch to another carrier!!!
