Learn how to reset your Pay in Advance account security PIN on this page.
What is a PIN?
When you contact a T-Mobile customer care representative, you'll need to provide a PIN (personal identification number). Your account security PIN allows the representative to gain access and make changes to your account
Steps
If for any reason you have forgotten your account PIN, you can reset it by follow these steps:
- Call 611 or *8646 from your handset.
- Enter your mobile number with the area code first.
- Say “NO” when prompted with the Refill Your Account Option.
- Wait for the automated menu system options and say, “Manage My Account” or Press 4.
- Say “Change my account PIN” or Press 1.
- Enter your new account security PIN twice.
What if I don’t have my device?
At this time, account PINs can only be reset through the automated menu system or at a T-Mobile retail store. If you do not have your device readily available to change your account PIN, visit a local T-Mobile retail store with your photo ID. The photo ID name must match the account name in order to make account changes.
