About T-Mobile Test Drive

T-Mobile Test Drive is an opportunity for you to try out our network before making the switch from your current carrier. We're so confident in the strength of our network that we’re providing potential customers a chance to try out T-Mobile’s network for themselves for free for seven days using an iPhone 5s. That's unlimited talk, text, and data – plus up to 3 GB of Smartphone Mobile HotSpot® service – without obligation.

Start your Test Drive today!

To sign up for Test Drive, go to www.t-mobile.com/testdrive, and you'll have an iPhone 5s shipped to you (using free 2-day shipping). You'll have seven days to try out T-Mobile's amazing coverage using the iPhone 5s. The Test Drive starts on the day the phone is delivered to your address.

The iPhone 5s is the only device available for this trial. It arrives fully charged and ready to use out of the box with:

  • Seven days of unlimited talk, text, and data, as well as up to 3 GB of Smartphone Mobile HotSpot service.
  • A pre-assigned phone number; the phone number can't be changed.
  • A SIM card; charger and cable; earpods; Apple user manual; and T-Mobile Terms & Conditions.

Things to keep in mind:

  • When you sign up for your Test Drive, a credit card or debit card is required. We can only ship to your credit card billing address.
  • A hold in the amount of $699.99 + applicable taxes will be placed on your card at the time you place your order. This is to ensure the phone is returned at the end of the trial period. If it is returned, the hold is released and you won’t be charged.
  • Because this is such an amazing deal, we can only allow one test drive per credit card or billing address.

During your 7-day Test Drive

While you're using the iPhone 5s and to get the full trial experience, we recommend that you forward your calls from your current phone to your trial device. Even though T-Mobile will not charge you for usage during the Test Drive, just be aware that you may be charged for call forwarding, depending on what your plan is with your current carrier and what fees they charge. Check with your current carrier first to see what charges you might incur for using their call forwarding service. Learn how to set up call forwarding during your Test Drive.

Completing your test drive

At the end of the 7-day trial period, you'll need to return the iPhone 5s to a T-Mobile retail store. Authorized dealers cannot accept Test Drive phones and you cannot mail them back, so please make sure to return it in-person at a T-Mobile retail store. We recommend you use our T-Mobile store locator to find the nearest retail locations, which show up as pins that are magenta-colored (a violet-red or purplish-red color). Once you've returned it, the hold on your credit card or debit card will be removed.

The Test Drive device must be returned in good condition. If the iPhone 5s cannot power on, has water damage, a cracked screen, or is returned with the Find my iPhone feature enabled, you'll be charged a $100 fee for the damaged device.

And that's it! We hope you enjoy your Test Drive and discover what so many other people have discovered since dropping their old wireless carriers and coming to T-Mobile.

If you need assistance during your Test Drive, please contact T-Mobile Customer Service.

Wrong caller ID - Deciding if want to continue with T-Mobile

Since I moved to T Mobile, the caller ID is all messed up. I made several calls to the customer service but of no help. I am being told that there are 2 databases containing caller ID. The one T Mobile is using is correct. I need to first find out from my friends what LAN line company they are using and chase down that company to get the caller ID fixed. This is just crazy. I am a male and the caller ID is showing girl's name. Most of the folks I call do not even pick up my calls. This is simply crazy.

I am to the point where I need to decide whether I want to continue with T Mobile. I moved from ATT and they fixed similar issue in one call.

Does anyone also having similar problem with T-Mobile caller ID?

Thanks,

ETF Reimbursement RIPOFF!!!

I switched to TMobile from my family plan with Verizon. I purchased my phone and plan at the TMobile store at 2719 Gulf to Bay in Clearwater FL. The guy that handled the transaction, CALVIN, assured me that I would have no problem getting a refund after I submitted my final bill from Verizon. I submitted an email of a scanned copy of my final bill with the ETF CLEARLY CIRCLED on May 7th 2014. My claim was denied on May 18th,2014. I contacted a customer service rep by phone at the Rebate Processing Center (18773118853) on June 3rd 2014. The rep was able to locate my claim and assured me that I would be receiving a refund for the amount of $280 within a few weeks. I called the Rebate Processing Center today,June 17th, to re-check the status of my claim and the automated system has just informed me that my claim has been denied again, for the second time, on the day that I spoke with a rep, June 3rd.

This entire process has been exhausting and incredibly frustrating. The only reason I left Verizon was because of this promotion. I am very upset with the lack of transparency and communication on TMobile's part. I feel that the rep mislead me after I called the Rebate Processing Center and was assured that my claim would be resubmitted and that i would be getting the $280 ETF. I have been nothing but polite and patient with TMobile and their customer service reps; at this point it looks like TMobile is simply giving me the run around and hoping I will shut up and go away.

Has anyone had any success filing a claim with the BBB or the FCC?

Customers currently under contract with another carrier are eligible for up to $650 per line (up to 5 lines). It’s two simple steps.

  1. When porting their number they can trade-in their current phones and tablets at any participating T-Mobile location and receive a credit up to $300 per device, which can be applied towards a new device purchase.

Then, when they get their final bill listing their ETF amounts, they simply send it to T-Mobile or submit it online at switch2tmobile.com, and within 8 weeks they receive a prepaid MasterCard covering their ETF amount up to $350 per line. The amount paid will not be more than the ETF amount the customers’ previous carriers charge for the type of device traded-in.

I have applied for my rebate but have been told I do not qualify because I did not trade in a phone. As you can see from the above paragraph the wording is CAN not MUST. I did everything else ported my number and purchased a new T-Mobile phone. Customer Service apparently does not know the difference between CAN and MUST.

Why do I have no coverage from Wharton, Texas, El Campo, Texas all the way to Palacios Texas?  This has been for the last six months.  I got this phone at the end of Dec 2013.  Unless I am in range of a wi-fi signal, my phone  is almost useless.Your coverage map shows I should have 4G or 3G. NO!  Not even close.  I am not sure what the GPRS means unless it means - Sorry sucker, you are paying big bucks for nothing.  Has the service gotten worse because Sprint is buying out TMobile?  I had hoped it would get better.  I think I may need to compare Verizon and AT&T coverage.

Any information on when the 4G I am paying for will actually be available?

Music Freedom and Sirius XM

Just wondering why this isn't included in the list of applications? Seems like Sirius XM is one of the more popular ones, any chance it can be added?

Why is mlb.com included in this?

Curious if anyone at T-Mobile can investigate and find out why mlb.com (at least the gameday audio since it appears they aren't yet ready to include video streaming) is not something included?  I know it's not music, but it's audio streaming and with the relationship between T-Mobile and MLB, one would think that this would be a natural choice.

Since the link http://www.t-mobile.com/offer/free-music-streaming.html doesn't allow for write in's, I figured I'd post here.

Buying a SIM card w/o a Plan

I'm trying to buy a microSIM card Starter Kit on the T-Mobile website, but whenever I add it to my cart it wants me to add a plan as well. I'm trying to get the $30/month online-activation plan, but that isn't an option until I have the card and activate my phone. Is there a way I can buy the starter kit online without also having a plan attached? I don't want to pay $50 for a plan I don't need.

If the plan being "bought" isn't actually being purchased, then I strongly recommend that this be changed, as it's very confusing and is making me think I'm buying a SIM card AND signing up for a plan all at once.

#646# or #MIN# not working anymore

Hi. I have been having this issue for approximately a month.

I have a Walmart Sim with $30/month plan giving unlimited text/data, 100 min talk.

I would always dial #646# and get the remaining minutes and date when I would need to make next payment to continue uninterrupted service.

Now when I dial #646# it says: dial #BAL# to get balance

When I dial #BAL# it says: "Current plan active until... and will renew for $30. Account BAlance $0. Add money by dialing *233 or redeem a refill card."

Dialing #999# gives me this: "Your T-Mobile Prepaid account balance is $0. To add more minutes diall *233 or redeem a refill card"

My plan is active and paid for.

When I check online I see I have 56 out of 100 talk minutes remaining, but I want to be able to conveniently get this information by dialing #646# as I have always done in the past.

I've spoken to at least three phone reps which keep reading some sort of troubleshooting protocol, that obviously doesn't apply to this situation.

I have had two reps open service tickets claiming that it will take 72 hours to remedy the issue. The issue was not solved and I received no word from T-Mobile. Service tickets opened were #6229509 and #6294344

Today an online chat rep told me both tickets were closed because nothing wrong was found with the line. Great : /

I am at a complete loss of how to get someone to help. The people at T-Mobile customer service are very polite and patient but it seems they are bound by some sort of company policy to just run through some sort of useless protocol and hope that either the customer gets tired and gives up or that the problem will somehow magically solve itself.

The latest advice given to me was to buy a new SIM card. My SIM is less than a year old and nothing seems wrong with it. I strongly doubt it is the culprit to #646# not working as it did in the past, as all other key codes work fine.

Not receiving messages in group texts?

Hello,

I am using an iPhone 5S and when I am group messaging, I don't receive any messages. I know that I should be, as sometimes I'll receive a message or two that is completely out of context because I haven't received anything prior to it. This is really frustrating. I've tried turning Group messaging off and then on again, and the same with MMS, but nothing's changed. Restarting the phone doesn't help either. I've even tried asking everyone to use MMS instead of iMessage (we all have iPhones, just on different carriers), but to no avail. I need group texting on a pretty much daily basis...please tell me how to fix this...

Thanks in advance.

Music Freedom included in my plan?

Hello, can somebody in Tmo confirm if Music Freedom is included in my plan?  I have a PREPAID plan Unlimited everything except on data up 5GB and speed will slow down if over 5GB data.

I'm trying to confirm if data really is free if I use iTunes Radio app and it looks like it's not free for I can still see data accumulating when I use the iTunes Radio app.  For example, I checked my data before using iTunes Radio app, it was at 4488.8 MB and after I used the iTunes Radio app playing just one song, my data becomes 4490.8.  So what gives?  Please advise.  Thanks.

Move from Contract to Simple Choice (no-contract)

My phone is currently under a business contract.  I want to move it to a Family Simple Choice (no-contract).  I have been told that it can be done, but there is a $200 migration fee to recoup the subsidize phone price.  When a phone is subsidized, it typically comes with a 2 yr contract commitment.  If I pay the migration fee (thus the subsidized $), am I done with my contract?

My name is Robert Adkison I am writing you about my contract. I am requested a early termination without  a penalty charge. The reason I am asking for this waiver is I live in Gatesville Texas 76528. My service is very limited here and doesn't include 4G or even 3G at all. I barely get 2bars I drop calls and lose service a lot. Before this date I worked at Fort Hood, just retired with 25 years military service. In Killeen the service was excellent. However since retired and staying at resident more I am not able to get a good signal.  I have been a good customer and kept my account in good standings. I hope you can see my side and the problems I am having. Please if you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Thank you for you time in this matter.

Nokia 925 onto my Pre-Paid Plan, Help!

I have a Nokia N97 and it is about time to get another phone. I was looking to get the unlocked Sony Z2, but it was very expensive. The Plan I am using is $30 per month with Unlimited Text and Data and 100 Minutes of Talk. The phone I would like to have now is the Nokia Lumia 925. I need to know how to find one that will works on T-Mobile and allows me to keep my pre-paid plan.

1. I looked on T-Mobile's Website and found this phone Nokia Lumia 925 Used & Refurbished | Used Nokia Lumia 925 | T-Mobile  it is $199, but when you click buy, it wants you to pick a plan. Well I already have a plan and I don't want to lose it. Let me know it i read this wrong though.

2. If I find a Nokia Lumia 925 on eBay or Amazon that has the T-Mobile symbol on the bottom, will that work. Or is there a difference between US T-Mobile and other countries' T-Mobile.

To wrap it up, I am trying to find a Nokia Lumia 925 that works on T-Mobile 4G LTE and allows me to keep my plan. I already understand that I will need to purchase a micro-sim card kit, because i have a normal sim card now.

Classic Plan and UnCarrier 5.0/6.0

It so nice to see all the initiatives and you can take advantage of it. It would be nice for the T-mobile customer who has the classic plan to be grandfathered into a simple plan. I missed the Uncarrier  initiative by weeks when the Nexus 4 was released. It would be smart to take care of the customers you already have.
