I was so excited that Tmobile was finally going to be able to offer the iPhone. I visted my local Tmobile store a week before the launch date to ask questions about how it would work. I currently had a Samsung Galaxy II. I was told I would have to pay a migration fee of $100. I wasn't too thrilled about that. I still have 6 months left for the contract on my current phone.
I decided to call Customer Service and ask if there was any way I wouldn't have to pay the migration fee. If I had to pay an extra $100, I wasn't going to get the phone. The CSR I spoke with told me that she could all of our lines (5 lines) on the Bridging plan. I would not have to pay a migration fee and could get my new iPhone. She said "If the salesperson at the store tells you that you need to pay a $100 migration fee, let them know they are wrong." I was thrilled!
I went to get my iPhone on April 12. The salesperson at the store was surprised that the $100 migration fee didn't come up. I was pleased that I had avoided the fee. Of course, switching from an Android to an iPhone requires a lot of manual transfer of information. I finally have it all set up and am loving my iPhone 5.
UNTIL - I see my bill. There it is, the $100 Migration fee. I tried live chat and was told that they could do nothing and I could return my phone to get a full refund. No way! I love my phone!
I then called Customer Service. The CSR was very surprised that I was charged a migration fee- he had never seen that. After putting me on hold, he came back and changed his story. This isn't a "Migration fee" it is the remainer charge to for my old Samsung Galaxy II phone. Really? Isn't that what a migration fee is?? There is no way I am paying the $100 since I was told I would not have to. The CSR didn't document that she had said that- OF COURSE!!
The CSR told me I could return the phone for a full refund. I am so mad! I have been with TMobile for over 10 years!! What is a $100 credit back to a cell phone company?? Their customer service is ridiculous!
I am so ready to cancel. I will be returning my phone and now they will have a USED iPhone 5 to sell rather than credit the $100. And they wonder why they are the lowest rated cell phone company.
