We have been t-mobile customers for about 10 years and year and a half ago when our contract ended, we decided not to get a new contract but purchase our phones without a contract. The phones in total cost us over $1000. We paid them in full this year and decided to switch to another provider. It took us a while to get unlock code for one of the phones but finally everything was completed. Now, a month later we get a bill which is over $800, saying it is our early termination fee (???!!!) We had no contract, how could there be an early termination fee if we paid month by month???
I contacted t-mobile but they said we did have a contract even though we did not and they basically refused to do anything. The whole point of buying our phones as opposed to getting free phones was to have no contract, That's what we requested when purchasing the phones. I have read that this happened to many people who did not have a contract. How in the world is this possible??
