I am experiencing the same issue described in Text messages over 160 chars truncated with "null". I am also using a Nexus 5. Here is a screenshot of the issue:
This issue has been reported multiple times, by multiple users, across multiple carriers. I've also reported this issue to Google, as they should not be inserting the text "null". Any help would be much appreciated!
