Did T-Mobile change the policy regarding Gold Reward when switching from Pay By The Day to Pay As You Go?

I called T-Mobile customer support regarding switching between back-and-forth between Pay As You Go & Pay By The Day and the guy said that if I wanted to switch from Pay by the Day back to PayGo, I had to put in at least a $10 top-up to have the Gold Rewards status again. After telling him about seeing posts that I didn't need to top-off $10 to have Gold Rewards, he seemed confused aswell. Albeit those posts were about half a year ago. So in that time period, did T-Mobile change the policy regarding the Gold Rewards switch? Thanks!
