Getting Started with Mobile Broadband

This document will help you get started using and understanding your new Mobile Broadband service. For additional details please refer to the Mobile Broadband (MBB) Overview documentation.

 

 

 


 

Registering for T-Mobile.com

Registering to T-Mobile.com will allow you to easily do the following:

  • Apply refills
  • Apply data passes
  • Check remaining data on your existing pass
  • Manage your account 

 

To sign up, follow several easy steps on the My T-Mobile Registration page.

  1. Enter your phone number and select Send Password.
    • This generates a temporary password and begins the registration process.
    • Passwords are case sensitive
  2. Enter your temporary password and select Continue.
    • A temporary password will be sent to your MBB device, hotspot or web stick.
    • Hotspots:
      1. Connect to the hotspot and click on http://mobile.hotspot to access the admin page.
      2. Your password will be "admin".
      3. Locate text message on the left hand side to read your messages.
      4. For additional instructions on accessing text messages, review the instructions listed in the T-Mobile 4G Mobile Hotspot documentation.
    • Web Sticks:
      1. Access the Web Connect Manager
      2. Proceed to the Messaging Center to locate the text message. 
      3. For additional instructions on accessing text messages, review the instructions listed in the Connection Manager Support documentation.
  3. Create a New Password and re-enter to Confirm Password.
  4. Enter the required information:
    • First name
    • Last name
    • Email address
    • Confirm email address
  5. Click Sign up.

 

 

 

Checking Your Usage

You can check your data usage anytime on my.T-mobile.com. Simply login to your account and you will be able to view your account status, current data usage and expiration date.

Applying Refills and Data Passes

In order to access the Internet on your device, you must first log into your T-Mobile account, apply funds to your account then apply a data pass. Applying funds to your account alone will not apply a data pass automatically. See the steps below to refill and apply data passes.

  1. Refill your account: 
    1. Log into your My T-Mobile account.
    2. Add funds to your account with a refill card, debit or credit card.
    3. Once the funds have been applied to your account, proceed to apply the data pass. 
  2. Applying a pass to the account: 
    1. On the right side of the page click on “View and change passes
    2. You will be presented with the option to select a pass. 
    3. Select the desired data pass.
    4. Select Submit.
    5. Upon completion you can take advantage of your data pass, and access the Internet.

Web Guard

Web Guard is a service that allows you restrict access to adult-themed (18 or over) Web sites. Filters are intended to remove such adult-themed Web sites from browse and search results. There is no charge to enable it or disable Web Guard.

 

Restrictions:

  • Does not block user-generated or user-shared content (Instant Message, email, text or picture message, etc).
  • This filter is not error-free and may over-restrict or under-restrict access from the ones perspective.
  • The filter may not work at certain times and/or in certain locations.
  • May block all sites within a particular category.
  • The filter does not work with client server applications (such as the Opera Mini Browser).

 

Access Levels:

  • Child
  • Teen
  • Young Adult
  • Unrestricted browsing (OFF)

 

Web Guard is an optional service and you may wish to change the default settings. Please follow the steps listed below to change your settings online:

  1. Log in to My T-Mobile
  2. Click Manage.
  3. Under Your profile select Device Controls.
  4. Chose the Web Guard setting within the Device Controls screen.
  5. Click Save Changes button.
