I have been with T-Mobile for over 6 years and last summer upgraded to their "No Contract" plan and paid $700 for a Galaxy S4. Over the course of this time, I moved to a deadzone where I could not get coverage inside the house. Because of this, I was forced to move to another carrier and knew that I had to pay-off the balance of my phone (~$300) per my equipment contract. Which I fully intended to do, however I received my final bill and they tacked on top of that a $200 Early Termination Fee. This is not right, I should not be held to two parellel contracts, when I upgraded it should have nulled out my previous old contract. That means when I bought my new phone I was agreeing to almost $1000 in liability if I were to terminate my service? This is not what I was sold, T-mobile promotes their "No Contract" plans when in actuality you are moving from a Service contract to an Equipment contract. I have been a loyal customer for numerous years and am holding up my end of the equipment contract and paying $700 retail for a phone when it should have been $200-300 under the old terms. This is not how you should treat your customers! I will be telling everyone I know about my experience.
