New Phone

The old Nokia gave up the ghost yesterday. I bought a flip phone from TMO. It looks like it might be a pay as you go for data.

I called 611 and supposedly had data blocked. The user doesn't want it, he only wants a phone. Says the screen is too small for any usage like that, but good enough for what he wants.

I have an old Even More plus plan - the phone will be used there. How can I make sure data is off? 2 reasons - he won't be able to figure out how to shut it off fast enough, and he doesn't want it and might fat finger it by mistake.

I wouldn't be adverse to paying for data if he wanted it, but he doesn't. He wants voice only and a flip phone.

TMO really should deal with issues like voice only on family plans. Some accounts might want to add an older parent who also wants only voice. Telling them to use a separate MNVO for that one relative isn't really accommodating. Allow stores to cut off data if the user of the phone doesn't want or need it.
