I have the Simple Choice free data roaming feature (and 20c/min) on my plans and I have used the phones in Thailand, Cambodia, etc, all with free data and texts, and 20c/min calls. Two days ago, I landed in the British Virgin Islands, which is a Simple Choice country, and I got the welcome text (20c/min, free text, etc.). When I started using data, I soon got a warning msg:
From 889
Free T-Mobile msg: Your International Data roaming charges have reached $50 in this bill cycle.
So I called T-Mobile and was told that maybe the text was generated in error, but he showed no roaming charges on my account. When I go online and check my account, I don't see any extra charges and it is showing my data usage sessions normally.
I continued to get the warning messages for $100 and $200 in usage, and just now got one "final" warning of more than $500 in International Roaming charges.
My phone shows it is using Digicel, which is a roaming partner.
Is there a reason for me to worry about this??
