T-Mobile number changes may be completed for several reasons, including relocation and changing service providers, among others.
- A mobile number change creates a new mailbox.
- Important: All messages in your old voicemail will be lost. Listen to any new voicemail messages prior to changing your mobile number.
- Once the new number is active, you must create a new greeting and password.
- T-Mobile number changes may take up to 2 to 4 hours to be completed.
- The customer’s landline caller ID may take up to 72 hours to show the correct information.
- The mobile number change fee appears on your next bill.
- All subscribers on a pooling plan must have mobile numbers within the same submarket.

- Important: Once the mobile number is changed, the call records for that mobile number are no longer available on My T-Mobile.

- Wait 72 hours for the mobile number change to take effect before accessing My T-Mobile.
Bill Impacts
If you recently changed your mobile number, the impacts to your bill may vary depending on your billing method. See Billing Methods: Bill Current vs. Bill Arrears to determine your billing method.
- Bill Arrears: You can expect to see the $15 mobile number change fee on your next bill. You will also see prorated monthly charges under the old and new mobile numbers for last month. These charges will equal your normal monthly charges, so it will not increase your bill.
- Bill Current: You can expect to see the $15 mobile number change fee on your next bill. You will also see a prorated credit and charge under the old and new mobile numbers for this month. This credit and charge will equal the monthly service amount you were already billed, so it will not increase your bill.
