Two months ago I started a family plan for my three sons. Somehow during the process I apparently did not make one of the phones unlimited data usage. Last night the one son who got 2.5 GB of data, rather than the expected unlimited, got a text message from TMobile informing him that he was suspended from 4G service until 24 March.
Two questions arise from this: First, how can he be suspended for going .17gb over a cap he did not know existed? I can understand reducing him to 2g for the billing period, but how can he be suspended for month for a trivial overuse?
Second question: I tried to update his phone to unlimited online and was told i could not, with the comment that I have the best plan I can get...huh? Why would the a third line be limited if i agree to pay more? I am not on a plan, I bought the phones they have, and am wiling to pay more.
As an additional note: I tried to sign up for easy pay and could not do so online. I called customer service and was told I could not have Easy Pay with my account. Now that seems largely counter intuitive....granted I signed up using a no credit check process...but would it not make sense to be able to automatically bill someone if they are deemed a risk? Color me confused.
I have given up on customer service..I usually get someone who knows less about phones than I do and I am a 66 year old grandpa.
If I cannot increase the one phone to unlimited, it makes not sense to remain on TMobile...so after this month if it cannot be fixed, time to find another carrier.
