Getting some very very annoying issue with cancel a line and porting number.

ok so a week ago I decide that I want to go with tmobile $30 plan rather than my postpay account.  So i activated a prepay plan and then call tmobile to cancel my post pay line and port my number to the prepay.  That was on the 15 or 16 of this month.  2 days days later, number is not port yet and I call in again and they claim that it didn't go through since my prepay number doesn't have a name on it yet.

 

I am like ok but let do it again and 2 days again it STILL haven't port the number over yet.  I do a chat with cs and they say the retention member put a note on cancel my account on 26, basically mading me pay 10 days of  service that they know i won't use.  This is getting VERY VERY annoying.  And for some reason they don't allow me to do this over the chat.  Do you know how hard is it to understand what the people at prepay department are saying?  The part that iky me off the most is that the CS that I talk to on the 20 thKNEW that the number won't go through porting since the line won't be disconnect till the 26.  And now i heard story that if I cancel my line and the port over fail, i can lose my number.  Any advice or suggestion?
