I just got a text message that I was switched over; I had a 300 min myfaves plan before (for about 4 years), and was paying extra for data
and paying per text message.
I'm posting this as a warning to others:
A couple of months ago, I had received a letter promising me a better plan than what is available through the simple choice plans.
It included unlimited text, calling and 2GB data at 4G speeds, for less money than what I was paying for the myfaves+data.
The letter said that I did not have to do anything and would be switched to the new plan in November.
The plan promised was better than what I had, so I was eagerly waiting to be switched over.
Today, I received a couple of text messages saying that my number was activated and that I had a flexpay balance.
I assumed the switch finally happened, so I checked the website, which indicated I was on the $35 unlimited text and calling plan
and did not have any data option.
And indeed, data stopped working.
When I called customer service to ask why I was not transitioned to the plan promised in the letter,
they said there are no other plans (i.e. the plan I was promised does not exist) and that I'll have to pay more if I want data.
I've been told that, unless I present the actual letter I received to a t-mobile store (a letter which I received MONTHS ago and which clearly stated THAT I DID NOT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING TO BE PUT ON THE NEW PLAN and a letter I might no longer have) they are unwilling to fix this.
On top of that, they can't see anything in the system about my old plan because of the switch, so to them it looks like I just signed up.
So, it looks like t-mobile is trying to get out of what it promised a couple of months ago and is hoping people won't notice?
