I attempted to send a text message this morning (it was a web page link) from a T-Mobile phone on a regular monthly plan, to another T-Mobile phone that is on the $2.00/day prepaid unlimited plan, only to see a "Sending failed" error each time I tried to send the original and re-send the failed message.
I then sent an MMS message to the same phone number, that message indicated it was sent successfully and also an Internet e-mail sent to the number was also sent successfully, it was only text messages where the sending failed.
However, once the phone was powered on and one of the failed messages was re-sent, only then was the sending successful.
Was this (hopefully) a one-time quirk in the system, or is it to be expected on this plan? From what I have read online elsewhere, an incoming text alone - with the phone off, would not trigger the $2.00 charge for that day, however, there is a sufficient balance in the account.
So I am at a loss as to why only the text messages sending failed and not the other types, until the phone was powered on and registered on the network.
Thank you.
