How do I get a referral credit when I refer a friend?

I was told by the person who sold me my phone that I could get referral credits when I refer someone to T-Mobile, but when my friend bought her phone, I asked her agent how to get my credit, and she just said that I can do it online.  Well, it doesn't seem to be easy to find on the T-Mobile site how I can do that...
