A couple of months ago..
- My daughter had her iPhone lost/stolen (I think lost, she says stolen)
- I suspended her line as lost/stolen
- I got a new sim and restored her line on an old phone
- On the T-Mobile.com Lost/Stolen page, I still could see the old phone as lost/stolen
When looking into helping her buy a used replacement phone, I came across a website that supposedly can tell you if the phone had a blocked IMEI. I put in the info from my daughter's old phone and it shows a valid IMEI!
I then logged on to the T-Mobile website (since redesigned) and no longer see the old phone on the lost/stolen page (even for reactivation).
Questions:
- Does T-Mobile release a blocked IMEI on your account after a period of time?
- Does the lost/stolen page not officially block that IMEI (making the phone near useless to a thief) ?
- Is the IMEI still blocked and I can't find it on the T-Mo website (or it's not available?)
- Is the IMEI check website I used wrong and Is there a better way to check a IMEI before I purchase a phone?
