Call Forwarding details

See Change rate plan or services from My T-Mobile to add features or services. To set up Call Forwarding from a device, see that device's specific common procedures.

  • You cannot forward to international numbers.
  • You can only forward calls to 10- or 11-digit numbers.
  • Forwarding while roaming depends on the host country's network capabilities. If the capability exists, you are charged international roaming plus applicable long distance.

Additional Details

Call Forwarding Conditional (CFC)

  • Allows you to forward your voice, fax, and data calls to another number based on certain conditions.
    • If busy (no available route for incoming call; may occur if a call arrives while dialing out)
    • If no reply (call is not answered for up to 30 seconds)
    • If not reachable (device is turned off or out of signal range; data device with wireless mode is off)
  • Once the condition is met and the call is forwarded, you have a bucket of 500 CFC minutes. Once the 500 minute bucket is exceeded any additional minutes will incur overage. It will not deduct from a rate plan bucket.
  • "If Unavailable" is a combination of the three conditions above, most devices automatically forward voice calls to voicemail under the "If Unavailable" condition. Voicemail forwarding does not use the CFC bucket.
  • Calls forwarded to another T-Mobile number bill as T-Mobile to T-Mobile instead of deducting from the 500 CFC bucket.

Call Forwarding Unconditional (CFU)

  • Allows you to unconditionally (always) forward voice, fax, and/or data calls to another phone number.
  • Unconditionally means that the system immediately sends calls to the designated phone number.
  • Usage deducts from the applicable bucket depending on when the call was forwarded.
  • If CFU is set to route calls to voicemail or another number while roaming, you won't be charged if the phone is off.
    • This is because you have Unconditional Call Forwarding set up and the call will be redirected to voicemail or the other number and never delivered to your handset.
    • However, if your phone is turned on while roaming and a Voicemail MWI is delivered, then you will be charged for the delivery of the MWI.
