Learn about On-Demand Data Passes:
Data Pass Details
- Data passes allow you to add or supplement your data service on a short-term basis.
- There are three different categories of On-Demand Data Passes:
- International Data Roaming Passes.
- On-Network Data Passes
- On-Network Smartphone Mobile Hotspot (SMHS - tethering only) Passes.
- Data passes do not have a monthly recurring charge. There is a one-time charge applied to your bill once the data pass becomes effective.
- Data passes have a data bucket (capped or data speeds slow) and an effective time period.
- Data passes are automatically removed once the data bucket or effective time period is complete, depending on the data pass category.
- In addition to regular voice and Mobile Broadband (MBB) plans, data passes can also be added to an On-Demand MBB rate plan.
- Data passes become effective in a few minutes and provide the end time.
- T-Mobile systems display pass-effective time periods. Regardless of where you are when a data pass is added, the system displays the time in the Pacific Time zone. Use www.worldtimebuddy.com to convert the time to the Pacific Time Zone.
Billing
Data passes are billed in the bill cycle in which they become effective.
- If a data pass starts in one bill cycle and ends in the next bill cycle, usage will appear on both bills.
- In this case, you may see usage for one data pass in two bill cycles.
- Once a data pass becomes effective, the full charge will remain on the bill.
Adding On-Demand Data Passes
- You can add data passes from the MyAccount Application or from My T-Mobile.
- You can also call Customer Service to add a data pass.
Removing On-Demand Data Passes
- Data passes can be removed at any time.
- If a future-dated data pass is removed before the effective date, there will be no charge for that data pass.
- If an active data pass is removed before the effective time period ends, the you will still be billed for the full cost of the data pass.
