Additional services for Pay in Advance

This document provides information on the additional services available for Pay in Advance accounts.

 

 

 


 

1-800-COLLECT

While not a T-Mobile service, 1-800-COLLECT is an option available if you are unable to refill but need to place a call. Service information for 1-800-COLLECT is available for all Pay in Advance customers, which includes:

  • Monthly plans
  • Pay As You Go
  • Pay By The Day

 

Service is provided by 1-800-COLLECT and allows you to make an urgent call if you are unable to add funds to your account.

  • Collect call charges are the responsibility of the party that accepts the call.
  • T-Mobile customers making a collect call are not charged.
  • The party accepting the call is charged by 1-800-COLLECT on either on their landline bill or by their wireless provider, whichever line type (wireless, landline) accepts the call.
  • Examples:
    • To a landline number: The person accepting the call will receive a bill from their landline company.
    • To a mobile number: The person accepting the call will receive a “Premium SMS” charge on their bill for the cost of receiving a collect call.
    • Prepaid customers can accept collect calls. In this case, they will be charged from the money in their account balance.

You have four options to call collect from your handset as a Pay As You Go customer:

Directory Assistance

  • The first minute of a Directory Assistance call is deducted from the Account Balance at a rate of $1.79.
  • Additional minutes for Directory Assistance deduct from your minutes.
  • In most areas, the Directory Assistance operator automatically connects you to the requested mobile number.
  • You may request up to three directory listings per call.
  • You can also reach a Directory Assistance operator via t-zones.
    Note: You will be prompted to select a link to connect to a 411 operator. This prompts a call using a four-digit short code that will direct you to a 411 operator to provide the information selected.
  • Canadian listings are available through Directory Assistance.
  • Directory Assistance can only direct connect you when located within the U.S. to other U.S. numbers.
  • You can dial Directory Assistance from your handsets to get a variety of information, including, but not limited to:                    
    • Mobile numbers
    • Movie listings
    • Sports scores
    • Stock quotes
    • Horoscopes
    • Weather
    • Reverse look-ups (search by mobile number)
    • Restaurant reviews and recommendations
    • Category search (search for a type of business such as a hardware or grocery store)
  • If there's not enough funds in the Account Balance to cover the $1.79 charge, you will receive the following message:  "Your account balance is too low; to complete this call, please refill your Account. "

 

Restrictions

  • International directory assistance is not available.
  • 411 connects customers in the U.S. to numbers within the U.S. only.
