Today I ended a call with T-Mobile technical support utterly surprised and disbelieving of the answer I was given... T-Mobile no longer support Email to Textyour10digitmobilenumber@tmomail.net !!!?
This is rather surprising and unexpected considering the following factors:
- This document http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-3309 strongly suggest that this is the method to use when sending text messages to a handset as an email.
- All other carriers on the US market support such a feature
- There are (according to T-Mobile Tech Support) no official statements or documentation about discontinuing the Email to Text service.
- There are (according to T-Mobile Tech Support) no alternative solutions offered by T-Mobile as a replacement to this service.
It is important to note that the service may still work for some subscribers, but if it doesn't, T-Mobile cannot offer any help due to no longer supporting Email to Text.
I have personally tested this feature with several other T-Mobile subscribers. A little less than half of them still received text messages via email. The rest of us didn't. There was absolutely no indication as to what happened to those missing texts. They have simply vanished, and T-Mobile will no longer address this issue.
Can this really be true? There are several important statements above that needs an official response from T-Mobile.
