I've recenlty signed up for t-mo, and one of the things I'm trying to do to keep my bill down is to keep my mobile hotspot usage under 2.5GB. I used to have 4GB on AT&T, so this is significantly less than I'm used to. I believe I can make it work, but I'll definitely have to squeeze my habits a bit. I wanted to ask a question about how the device handles simultaneous hotspotting and apps using data on the phone.
I often use hotspot to work, and I might be using Spotify on my computer while I work. In order to save data on my 2.5GB hotspot cap, would I be able to use the Spotify app on my phone, which is not being used through a tether? Or does the act of having tether turned on make all data usage on your phone count against your hotspot cap? Knowing how this works can help me plan accordingly.
Thanks!
