ETF Reimbursement Offer details

We now make it easy for families to switch to T-Mobile by paying your Early Termination Fee (ETF) for up to 5 lines. Beginning January 9, 2014, postpaid customers on a service contract who switch to T-Mobile from AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint can get help to cover their switching costs.

This offer is also available to existing T-Mobile customers.

To take advantage of this amazing offer, move your eligible mobile number from AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint; trade in your old device; and purchase a new T-Mobile device. You'll see the savings in two payouts. The first payout takes place when you turn in a working device using our existing trade-in program. You'll see the second payout in the form of a prepaid MasterCard after you submit the ETF submission form and final bill from their previous carrier.

Offer details

To take advantage of this offer, you'll need to:

  • Trade in an eligible phone or device
  • Transfer your eligible mobile number to T-Mobile from AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint
  • Activate a new line of service on a qualifying plan
  • Purchase a qualifying phone or device
  • Submit your final bill showing your name, address, phone number(s), and ETF amount from your previous carrier

Maximum combined payout per line based on the trade-in value and ETF value is $650: Up to $300 per device for trade-in value and up to $350 per line for ETF value.

First and second payouts

To get your first payout, you need to first trade in your eligible phone or device. If you haven't done so already, and you don't have a shipping label, follow instructions provided by your sales representative to print a trade-in shipping label at the T-Mobile Trade-in status page.

The second payout is the ETF reimbursement. To receive it, visit www.switch2tmobile.com within two months from service activation and submit your final bill from your previous carrier.
Note: The switch2tmobile website is available beginning January 15, 2014.

Reimbursement Processing Status

The ETF reimbursement request could take up to 8 weeks to process and will be paid in the form of a prepaid MasterCard. You can submit and check the status of your Prepaid MasterCard at www.switch2tmobile.com.
