Steps
Manage Spam / keyword filters
- Email filters allow you to manage the delivery of email messages to their handsets.
- Email filters cannot be used for standard text messages or instant messages.
- Email filters ONLY work for messages sent to mobilenumber@tmomail.net or alias@tmomail.net.
To set up spam / keyword filters, follow these steps:
- Open a web browser and log in to My T-Mobile.
- From the top navigation bar, hover the cursor over MobileLife and then click E-mail and Text Tools.
- Click Create E-mail filters.
- Click Create Filter, Edit Filter, or Delete Filter.
- Adjust the filter settings:
- From the If the (From) field drop-down menu, select an option (From, To, Subject).
- Click the Contains drop-down menu.
- Select desired option (Contains, Does not contain).
- In the text field to the right of the Contains / Does not contain drop-down menu, enter the word or phrase you wish to filter.
- Click the Then drop-down menu.
- Select one of the following desired options:
- Do not send to handset and do not forward
- Do not send to handset but forward email To
- Send to handset and forward To
- In the To text box, enter the forwarding address.
Manage Email Alias Settings
- An email alias allows you to assign a unique name to your tmomail.net account.
- The alias must consist of a combination of letters and numbers.
- Choose an alias that is short and easy to remember.
To create an email alias, follow these steps:
- Open a web browser and log in to My T-Mobile.
- From the top navigation bar, hover the cursor over MobileLife and then click E-mail and Text Tools.
- From the MobileLife page, click Change email address.
- Enter desired alias in the text box.
- Click UPDATE to create an alias.
- Email is now delivered to your mobilenumber@tmomail.net AND alias@tmomail.net addresses.

Manage E-mail via Text Message Settings
Block all email
- Open a web browser and log in to My T-Mobile.
- From the top navigation bar, hover the cursor over MobileLife and then click E-mail and Text Tools.
- Click Create e-mail filters under E-mail filters and spam blocking.
- To block all email messages to the handset, click Yes for the Block all messages from E-mail to handset setting.
- Click UPDATE.
Allow messages to the email alias or the phone's email address
- Open a web browser and log in to My T-Mobile.
- From the top navigation bar, hover the cursor over MobileLife and then click E-mail and Text Tools.
- Click Create e-mail filters under E-mail filters and spam blocking.
- To allow messages to the email alias or the phone's email address, click Yes for the Allow messages ONLY to "My Phone's E-Mail address" setting.
- Click UPDATE.
