Manage email filters and aliases

Learn how to manage email filters and aliases via My T-Mobile.

 

 

Steps

Manage Spam / keyword filters

 

  • Email filters allow you to manage the delivery of email messages to their handsets.
  • Email filters cannot be used for standard text messages or instant messages.
  • Email filters ONLY work for messages sent to mobilenumber@tmomail.net or alias@tmomail.net.

 

To set up spam / keyword filters, follow these steps:

 

  1. Open a web browser and log in to My T-Mobile.
  2. From the top navigation bar, hover the cursor over MobileLife and then click E-mail and Text Tools.
  3. Click Create E-mail filters.
  4. Click Create Filter, Edit Filter, or Delete Filter.
  5. Adjust the filter settings:
    1. From the If the (From) field drop-down menu, select an option (From, To, Subject).
    2. Click the Contains drop-down menu.
    3. Select desired option (Contains, Does not contain).
    4. In the text field to the right of the Contains / Does not contain drop-down menu, enter the word or phrase you wish to filter.
    5. Click the Then drop-down menu.
    6. Select one of the following desired options:
      • Do not send to handset and do not forward
      • Do not send to handset but forward email To
      • Send to handset and forward To
    7. In the To text box, enter the forwarding address.

 

 

Manage Email Alias Settings

  • An email alias allows you to assign a unique name to your tmomail.net account.
  • The alias must consist of a combination of letters and numbers.
  • Choose an alias that is short and easy to remember.

 

To create an email alias, follow these steps:

  1. Open a web browser and log in to My T-Mobile.
  2. From the top navigation bar, hover the cursor over MobileLife and then click E-mail and Text Tools.
  3. From the MobileLife page, click Change email address.
  4. Enter desired alias in the text box.
  5. Click UPDATE to create an alias.
  6. Email is now delivered to your mobilenumber@tmomail.net AND alias@tmomail.net addresses.

Manage E-mail via Text Message Settings

 

Block all email

  1. Open a web browser and log in to My T-Mobile.
  2. From the top navigation bar, hover the cursor over MobileLife and then click E-mail and Text Tools.
  3. Click Create e-mail filters under E-mail filters and spam blocking.
  4. To block all email messages to the handset, click Yes for the Block all messages from E-mail to handset setting.
  5. Click UPDATE.


Allow messages to the email alias or the phone's email address

  1. Open a web browser and log in to My T-Mobile.
  2. From the top navigation bar, hover the cursor over MobileLife and then click E-mail and Text Tools.
  3. Click Create e-mail filters under E-mail filters and spam blocking.
  4. To allow messages to the email alias or the phone's email address, click Yes for the Allow messages ONLY to "My Phone's E-Mail address" setting.
  5. Click UPDATE.
